Plan an Adventure / Walk in the Woods

Some include a Murder Mystery evening, a bonfire, a birthday, or a unique work experience. We are open to your suggestions and will work with you to plan a training exercise, a family event, and more.

We provide a limited concierge service when you plan in advance. We can book a large variety of activities for you on request and sometimes may be able to get discounts for you. If your total bill comes to more than $1400, this is a free service for up to three activities. Otherwise, you pay you pay $25 for each activity we schedule and the cost for each event. You are encouraged to do your own advance scheduling and tell us before you come. Then we will remind you before the event. Both the limited concierge service and the variety of events will be planned in advance.

Now for a Walk in the Woods or any other experience, you do on your own without planning. This is where you find peace, do a little work, chase the geese, let God in, and all those mana moments when something magical happens – they will just happen. Be open to them. Relax, recharge, revive. Allow the peaceful energy that fills this place to restore your soul. A little transformation will happen. You can take it home as our gift to you.

Plan Your Wedding

For many couples, our wedding service is like a one-stop shop that covers all the details of your wedding. The Sanctuary is a beautiful place to get married, if you do nothing more. But there is a lot more waiting for you.

If you plan your wedding six or more months in advance and are willing to complete our Before You Say I Do experience, Pearl or Warren can be your officiant. You can certainly choose your own officiant.

We offer limited coordination/planning services to reduce the overwhelming list of details and keep costs under control, so if you are planning a wedding, let us know.

Plan an Event

Plan this In Advance. Follow the link to learn more.

We like to limit our events to 100 visitors or less. It keeps the neighbors happy, helps to keeps our landscape beautiful, and fits well within the facilities available at our ten-acre site.

Your event may be simple like a bonfire or using the bounce house or trampoline. It may be a birthday, an anniversary, a graduation, a company training, or another learning experience. We plan a variety of events periodically, you can participate in. We may even be able to schedule stilt walking, fire eating/spinning, and other adventures. As long as you stay safe and don’t disturb our neighbors, your imagination is your only limitation.

The Human Journey

Plan this in Advance. Follow the link to learn more.

The Human Journey is a little like a board game and a lot like a three-act play. It supports you, your family, and/or an intimate group of six people to feel more connected. It is a therapeutic experience that touches your heart and opens the door to improved communication.

As therapy you will become familiar with three listening skills. You will travel from childhood, to adulthood and begin to step into the future. As you tell your stories, others will practice listening. You will listen at a much deeper level than normal. You will explore. You will feel joy and may cry. You will bond.

Step-by-Step Financial Planning

Plan this in Advance. Follow link to learn more

Chimorel’s Step by Step Financial Planning starts with getting & keeping a job. You learn to maximize resources like money, time, information and energy. You learn to manage risks in your life and to fund the major goals in your life. Finally, you plan to add value and satisfaction to your life through planning for college, retirement, travel, charity, and whatever else is important to you.

This program begins a lifetime of financial growth. Once you have a fullfilling career that pays well, you begin to manage the resources and risks in your life. You develop the investment strategies that will meet the long term needs in your life. You will plan all those things that bring satisfaction to you. We will open the door, but you must walk through. You can stop at any point and the journey will stop until you start again.

Work Out, Have Fun

A five-minute walk across the street at the Concord Township Park offers outdoor exercise equipment, basketball, baseball, tennis, playground,  shelter house, and many more opportunities to have fun or work out.

You can have a picnic, swing on swings, and watch a variety of sports activities – all for free. When the fields and courts are not being used, you may be able to schedule or use them, as well.

Find Peace

As mentioned in a Walk in the Woods above, this will just happen. The important thing is that you let it happen. Leave your problems behind. Let the beauty and peace of this place come in.

You will gaze out one of our beautiful windows. You will relax on the spacious patio. You will sit on a big rock beside the pond. You will watch the ducks, maybe even yell at the geese. You will walk in the woods. You will look up at the trees and invite God in. You might lie on a blanket and watch the clouds go by. Yes, let the beauty and peace come in.

You might get up from watching the electric flames in the fireplace, stretch your legs, take your partner’s hand, and walk out on the porch to watch the stars. Take a deep breath in through the nose, out through the mouth. Now repeat. Close your eyes and pay attention to your breathing. Notice your heartbeat. Sit back in a big comfortable chair. Rest your head. Take the tension off your neck. Stare into her eyes. Put your arm around his waist. God is always with you. Let Him in.

Spectacular Surroundings

Like finding Peace be open to the spectacular surroundings at the Sanctuary. Of course, you will discover a little mud and some dead trees. You will also discover birds, tall trees, sunlight glistening across the pond, and a natural beauty that fills your soul.

Enjoying the spectacular surroundings is a mindset thing. Make the small decision to enjoy. This is a first step toward transformation. Yes, transformation is optional. Yet, when all around you is beckoning, when the air is blowing on your face and tall trees are swaying, when you see a fish jump or hear a bird chirp, the small decision to open your life to all the possibilities ahead becomes a little easier to do.

Then as you leave, remember and do. The spectacular surroundings are still there. They will go with you until you come back. You will be stronger, more wealthy, happier, and more peaceful.

Other Ways to Enjoy the Sanctuary

Stock The Refrigerator

Plan this in Advance. After you order and have your groceries delivered, we will stock the refrigerator for you.

Every time my wife and I travel somewhere, we like to cook our own food, but we don’t like to figure out where the grocery stores are and take a couple of hours out of a busy day touring to buy food. If your total bill comes to more than $1400, this is a one-time free service. If your bill is less than $1400, we will charge $25 for this service. You buy the food and have it delivered. It is really convenient to arrive with a stocked refrigerator and you don’t have to figure out what to do with the leftovers. We’ll take care of that for you, as well.

Work / Volunteer

Almost everyone joins our volunteer Geese Patrol. You don’t want the Canadian Geese to set up housekeeping any more than we do. They leave unwelcome messes. Some bite. They are arrogant and territorial. They are big and could hurt your children. We discourage them in many ways we will tell you about. Chasing them away is an adventure in itself. This is a seasonal activity.

We have many, many projects waiting for you – upgrade the drive and parking, clear the dead trees, rake, throw the rake to clear the pond, paint, sweep, mop, drive, shop, build a climbing wall, create a labyrinth, build a greenhouse, plant & tend the gardens/flowers/vegetables, build a cob house, learn how to build your own cob house, create marketing videos and materials, update our database, spread gravel or wood chips, mow part of approximately five acres, set up & take down for events, use your creative imagination in hundreds of ways, think of something to support someone.

Everyone who works with Chimorel starts as a volunteer. We typically work in 4-5 hour shifts and pay $50+/shift. You volunteer the first hour. So your pay is kind of $12-15+/hr. You typically get a free meal or two. You learn some potentially valuable skills. And we pay bonuses to people who work both really hard and very smart.  For most people, it isn’t about being paid. You can choose to volunteer. It is about the experience of working together to make something better.

We are constantly looking for competent leaders who support people in their transformational process worldwide. You might become one of those leaders. You could earn $35-100,000+/yr full-time. This link leads to Work With Chimorel on Chimorel’s main website and many other links. It is usually best to indicate your desire to work in advance, but you could decide spur of the moment when we have something that needs to be done.

Transform

Transformation starts with making small decisions. It only takes a few seconds to make a decision that can change your life. It may take years of little decisions to clear away all the issues before you can make that decision.

You clear away all the issues by making many small decisions. Visiting the Sanctuary can be a restful and adventurous experience. Transformation is optional. Transformation begins as you become aware of the peace surrounding you and the connecting doors this peace opens. It continues as you do what you decide to do.

We list more than 60 adventure activities. Most of them will take at least 3-4 hours. Some could be all-day adventures and could be considered day trips. To avoid getting overstressed we suggest not trying to do more than two/day – a morning and afternoon, perhaps an evening and … Anything further than fifteen miles should add approximately 1 hour to your planning considering both going and coming.

Shows, Entertainment & Sports

We list a few more than 20 theaters, entertainment sites, and sports activities, including bowling, laser tag, fencing, skating & more.  OSU Athletics includes OSU football, basketball, and many other OSU sports activities. Other colleges have sports activities that are not listed. If ballroom dancing is your thing, ask Warren. He has a personal friend who owned a top studio.

Day Trips & Sight Seeing

Another personal friend recently started the Columbus Touring Company. You can rent a charter bus for a personalized tour of the surrounding Columbus area at reasonable prices. Day trips and sightseeing include farms, parks, fairs, festivals, and other activities that will typically take most of the day. They are usually a little further than other activities, but a few are nearby. One that is just down the street is Olentangy Caverns.
